As the world's climate stubbornly fails to confirm anthropogenic global warming, the media, politicians, researchers and enviromaniactivists who rode the AGW bandwagon for personal fame and profit are expected to become more and more uneasy about having to explain why so much taxpayer money has been wasted on what is soon to be regarded as the biggest scam in history. |

Mediagenic Global Squirming, or MGS, is the name given to the gaseous phenomenom, which is expected to result in a calamitous rise in finger-pointing, shoulder-shrugging and a wholesale lack of acceptance of any responsibility for the excessive fear-mongering and profiteering engaged in by those who rode the global warming gravy train at the expense of people who actually have to work for a living. Not everyone is convinced. Global Squirming skeptics doubt that we're really in for any kind of an increase in this sort of excuse-making behaviour. "What we're really going to hear is a deafening silence" , sez Biff Grenhuus, long a vocal critic of the Global Squirming theory, "these people don't care enough to even make excuses, look at all the hyped up climate catastrophe theories of the past like Silent Spring, Nuclear Winter, the Ozone Hole. No one ever apologized for them. The politicians have already been elected, the scientists have procurred funding for pet projects by tying in their study of the yellow-bellied popinjay somehow to the effects of global warming, and the journalists have sold their newspapers...well, maybe not the last one." |
