January 10, 2010 Bifftronica has just announced plans to introduce what they're describing as simply a 'hand-held mobile device' sometime this Spring, but based on their long history of bringing revolutionary products to the marketplace this announcement is generating quite a buzz in the tech world. While not specifying exactly what it does, Bifftronica marketing whiz, Barry I. Ferretstorm seems to have every intention of 'riding the buzz', (a phrase he coined and the title of his best-selling viral marketing book), by simply releasing tantalizing clues about the new device without giving it all away. "This device is simply waiting for a couple killer apps to be developed, and then, hey, welcome to the twenty-tweens, everyone will have one of these things!" Photos released of the device feature a rather largish, rough, clunky looking object. "In terms of product design, this thing definitely will break new ground", sez Barry, "our research has shown that people are ready for a change away from the tiny, smooth, slick hi-tech look that characterizes the current crop of iPhones, iPods, Blackberries and so on. We've gone with a more rustic look, a bigger, bolder look. Frankly, people are sick of squinting at teeny screens and tapping teeny buttons that can fit, 'four-to-a-pad' on a kitten's digit, let alone a grown man's fingers. Besides that, many of these tiny personal electronics are dangerous to use when operating a vehicle. Our device has been engineered in such a way as to actually enhance the driving experience, in fact, driving will be safer when using this. We've actually had this device tested by harbor crane operators, they loved it and have proven that it's safe to use when operating the heaviest types of machinery." |
