Platypii Reluctantly Relinquish Tenuous Hold on Planet Earth

February 27th, 2011

The Platypii have reluctantly decided to relinquish their hold on Earth. The difficult decision comes after millenia of trying to colonize the planet.

"We never managed anything more than just a tenuous webbed foothold on Australia, and virtually no penetration of any other continent besides that" said Captain 'Wally' Wakwak, commander of the return mission to their rather forlorn home planet, Bifftoplat.

"I'm only pleased to say that, during the whole time of our stay here, we were able to remain under the radar of SETI. Consequently astrobiology still remains a science with no real object of study to this day."

Captain 'Wally' Wakwak suits up for the long journey home.

The voyage home will be taken in impressive spacecraft like the Platlas IV rocket seen below.

The Platypii were able to stay under SETI's radar for years due to their quiet, unobtrusive ways.

PlatypusShuttle

The Platypii have many years of experience in spaceflight.

PlatypusControls

The Platlas IV features controls designed for easy webbed handling.

The home planet Bifftoplat is shown here. It features an interesting anomaly that appears to some as a platypus face, but I can only scoff at this.
